DisGo: Your Portable Party Phone Case
January 2019 to May 2019
Description
During my sophomore year at Berkeley, I took Engineering 27 (Introduction to Manufacturing and Tolerancing), a course that teaches various manufacturing processes, GD&T, and prototyping. A large part of our grade was based on a group project that enhances the capabilities of a smartphone. After discussing several ideas, my group decided to pick my idea, the DisGo, a portable disco ball that attaches to a smartphone.
Some of my contributions to the project include:
-
Did the CAD design of the disco ball and contributed to deciding fits and tolerances
-
Did extensive prototyping of the ball and case using 3d printers to test out fits and different designs
-
Came up with the idea of using binder filters to change the white light into different colors and glued the filters to the ball
-
Worked on project reports and presentation
